1. Put up twinkle lights
Whether it’s in your home, in your office or wherever works for you, nothing says the holidays like some twinkle lights! They instantly transform a space and create a festive ambiance that’ll put a smile on any bah humbug!
2. Get out the popcorn and the cheesy holiday movies
As the temperatures get cooler, what’s better than a hot cup of cocoa and one of your favorite holiday staples?? Yes, they are cheesy, yes the acting isn’t the best, but we love them anyway! Looking forward to watching Christmas with the Kranks for the millionth time 🙂

3. Throw (or attend) an ugly Christmas Sweater Party
Ugly Christmas Sweater parties are all the rage! It’s a silly party that has now become a tradition for many. With all the demand for ugly Christmas sweaters, your local Target carries a plethora of options. Or if you’re like me and won’t step foot in a mall during the holidays, snag yours online here.

5. Bake some holiday goodies
Nothing says holidays like baking! The wonderful smell of something yummy in the oven brings me right back to memories of being a kid on Christmas. Some of our favorite recipes come from MarthaStewart.com, but of course, family recipes are always the best!

6. Check some people off your Christmas list at the holiday markets
Get into the holiday spirit with a visit to the holiday markets in Downtown DC and Old Town Alexandria! The holiday markets will offer a huge selection of artisans, crafters, and boutique businesses selling unique goods in a village market type of shopping experience! 7. Roast some marshmallows
Being cozy is like a theme this year. So what’s cozier than hanging by the fire, roasting some marshmallows and listening to Christmas tunes? Nothing, that’s what 🙂

8. Take a day trip
Less than two hours away is Liberty Mountain Resort, a popular ski resort for families in the DMV. Aside from the obvious skiing and snowboarding activities, they also have a wonderful day spa, indoor pool and jacuzzi.
9. Find a new favorite red
To change things up on our typical girls night, we pick 3 or 4 reds for a wine tasting. Who doesn’t love a great red wine in the winter? A few of our favorites are Dynamite and Ropiteau. We love the taste, but also love the under $10 price tag! You can find them at your local grocery store.

10. Go ice skating
Get moving outdoors at Pentagon Row’s ice skating rink! It’s the largest outdoor rink in Northern VA and fun for the whole family. Open until mid-march so you’ll have plenty of time to perfect your ice skating skills 😉
Happy holidays everyone!
